रथिनो रथिभिस्तत्र पत्तिभिः सह पत्तयः । हया हयैरिभाश्चेभैः समसज्जन्त संयुगे ॥ ८-१०-८ ॥
On that battlefield, the charioteers fought with the opposing charioteers, the infantry soldiers with the opposing infantry, the soldiers on horseback with the opposing soldiers on horseback, and the soldiers on the backs of elephants with the enemy soldiers on elephants. उस युद्धभूमि में रथी अपने विपक्षी रथियों से, पैदल सेना विपक्षी पैदल सेना से, अश्वारोही विपक्षी अश्वारोहियों से तथा हाथी पर सवार सैनिक विपक्षी हाथी पर सवार सैनिकों से भिड़ गये। इस प्रकार समान पक्षों में युद्ध होने लगा। ॥ ८-१०-८ ॥
