शुष्यद्ध्रदाः कर्शिता बत सिन्धुपत्न्यः सम्प्रत्यपास्तकमलश्रिय इष्टभर्तुः । यद्वद्वयं मधुपतेः प्रणयावलोकमप्राप्य मुष्टहृदयाः पुरुकर्शिताः स्म ।। १०-९०-२३ ।।

sanskrit

O rivers, wives of the ocean, your pools have now dried up. Alas, you have shriveled to nothing, and your wealth of lotuses has vanished. Are you, then, like us, who are withering away because of not receiving the affectionate glance of our dear husband, the Lord of Madhu, who has cheated our hearts? ।। 10-90-23 ।।

english translation

हे नदियों, समुद्र की पत्नियों, तुम्हारे तालाब अब सूख गए हैं। हाय, तुम सूखकर शून्य हो गये हो और तुम्हारे कमलों का धन लुप्त हो गया है। तो क्या आप भी हमारी तरह हैं, जो हमारे हृदयों को धोखा देने वाले प्रिय मधुपति पति की स्नेहमयी दृष्टि न पाकर मुरझा रही हैं? ।। १०-९०-२३ ।।
