भूतानामसि भूतादिरिन्द्रियाणां च तैजसः । वैकारिको विकल्पानां प्रधानमनुशायिनम् ।। १०-८५-११ ।।

sanskrit

You are false ego in the mode of ignorance, which is the source of the physical elements; false ego in the mode of passion, which is the source of the bodily senses; false ego in the mode of goodness, which is the source of the demigods; and the unmanifest, total material energy, which underlies everything. ।। 10-85-11 ।।

english translation

आप अज्ञानता की अवस्था में मिथ्या अहंकार हैं, जो भौतिक तत्वों का स्रोत है; रजोगुण में मिथ्या अहंकार, जो शारीरिक इंद्रियों का स्रोत है; सतोगुण में मिथ्या अहंकार, जो देवताओं का स्रोत है; और अव्यक्त, कुल भौतिक ऊर्जा, जो हर चीज़ का आधार है। ।। १०-८५-११ ।।

नश्वरेष्विह भावेषु तदसि त्वमनश्वरम् । यथा द्रव्यविकारेषु द्रव्यमात्रं निरूपितम् ।। १०-८५-१२ ।।

sanskrit

You are the one indestructible entity among all the destructible things of this world, like the underlying substance that is seen to remain unchanged while the things made from it undergo transformations. ।। 10-85-12 ।।

english translation

आप इस दुनिया की सभी विनाशकारी चीजों में से एक अविनाशी इकाई हैं, जैसे अंतर्निहित पदार्थ जो अपरिवर्तित देखा जाता है जबकि उससे बनी चीजें परिवर्तन से गुजरती हैं। ।। १०-८५-१२ ।।

सत्त्वंरजस्तम इति गुणास्तद्वृत्तयश्च याः । त्वय्यद्धा ब्रह्मणि परे कल्पिता योगमायया ।। १०-८५-१३ ।।

The modes of material nature — namely goodness, passion and ignorance — together with all their functions, become directly manifest within You, the Supreme Absolute Truth, by the arrangement of Your Yoga-māyā. ।। 10-85-13 ।।

english translation

भौतिक प्रकृति के गुण - अर्थात अच्छाई, जुनून और अज्ञान - अपने सभी कार्यों के साथ, आपकी योग-माया की व्यवस्था से, आपके भीतर, परम परम सत्य, सीधे प्रकट हो जाते हैं। ।। १०-८५-१३ ।।

तस्मान्न सन्त्यमी भावा यर्हि त्वयि विकल्पिताः । त्वं चामीषु विकारेषु ह्यन्यदाव्यावहारिकः ।। १०-८५-१४ ।।

sanskrit

Thus these created entities, transformations of material nature, do not exist except when material nature manifests them within You, at which time You also manifest within them. But aside from such periods of creation, You stand alone as the transcendental reality. ।। 10-85-14 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार ये निर्मित सत्ताएं, भौतिक प्रकृति के रूपांतर, अस्तित्व में नहीं हैं, सिवाय इसके कि जब भौतिक प्रकृति उन्हें आपके भीतर प्रकट करती है, उस समय आप भी उनके भीतर प्रकट होते हैं। लेकिन सृजन की ऐसी अवधियों से अलग, आप पारलौकिक वास्तविकता के रूप में अकेले खड़े हैं। ।। १०-८५-१४ ।।

गुणप्रवाह एतस्मिन्नबुधास्त्वखिलात्मनः । गतिं सूक्ष्मामबोधेन संसरन्तीह कर्मभिः ।। १०-८५-१५ ।।

sanskrit

They are truly ignorant who, while imprisoned within the ceaseless flow of this world’s material qualities, fail to know You, the Supreme Soul of all that be, as their ultimate, sublime destination. Because of their ignorance, the entanglement of material work forces such souls to wander in the cycle of birth and death. ।। 10-85-15 ।।

english translation

वे वास्तव में अज्ञानी हैं, जो इस संसार के भौतिक गुणों के निरंतर प्रवाह में कैद होकर, आपको, उन सभी के सर्वोच्च आत्मा को, अपने अंतिम, उत्कृष्ट गंतव्य के रूप में जानने में विफल रहते हैं। अज्ञानता के कारण, भौतिक कार्यों का जाल ऐसी आत्माओं को जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र में भटकने के लिए मजबूर करता है। ।। १०-८५-१५ ।।
