ऋणैस्त्रिभिर्द्विजो जातो देवर्षिपितॄणां प्रभो । यज्ञाध्ययनपुत्रैस्तान्यनिस्तीर्य त्यजन् पतेत् ।। १०-८४-३९ ।।

Dear Prabhu, a member of the twice-born classes is born with three kinds of debts — those owed to the demigods, to the sages and to his forefathers. If he leaves his body without first liquidating these debts by performing sacrifice, studying the scriptures and begetting children, he will fall down into a hellish condition. ।। 10-84-39 ।।

english translation

प्रिय प्रभु, द्विज वर्ग का सदस्य तीन प्रकार के ऋणों के साथ पैदा होता है - देवताओं का, ऋषियों का और अपने पूर्वजों का। यदि वह यज्ञ करके, शास्त्रों का अध्ययन करके तथा सन्तान उत्पन्न करके इन ऋणों को समाप्त किए बिना ही शरीर छोड़ देता है, तो वह नारकीय स्थिति में गिर जाता है। ।। १०-८४-३९ ।।
