ब्रह्मण्यो ब्राह्मणं कृष्णो भगवान् प्रहसन् प्रियम् । प्रेम्णा निरीक्षणेनैव प्रेक्षन् खलु सतां गतिः ।। १०-८१-२ ।।

sanskrit

While the Supreme Lord, the goal of all saintly persons, conversed in this way with the best of the twice-born, He laughed and spoke the following words to that dear friend of His, the brāhmaṇa Sudāmā, all the while smiling and looking upon him with affection. ।। 10-81-2 ।।

english translation

जबकि परम भगवान, जो सभी संतों के लक्ष्य हैं, द्विजों में से सर्वश्रेष्ठ के साथ इस तरह से बातचीत कर रहे थे, उन्होंने हंसते हुए अपने प्रिय मित्र, ब्राह्मण सुदामा को निम्नलिखित शब्द बोले, जबकि वे मुस्कुराते रहे और देखते रहे उसे स्नेह से। ।। १०-८१-२ ।।
