श्रीशुक उवाच एकदोपवनं राजन् जग्मुर्यदुकुमारकाः । विहर्तुं साम्बप्रद्युम्नचारुभानुगदादयः ॥ १०-६४-१ ॥
Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O King, one day Sāmba, Pradyumna, Cāru, Bhānu, Gada and other young boys of the Yadu dynasty went to a small forest to play. ॥ 10-64-1 ॥

श्री शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा: हे राजन, एक दिन सांब, प्रद्युम्न, चारु, भानु, गद और यदु वंश के अन्य युवा लड़के खेलने के लिए एक छोटे से जंगल में गए। ॥ १०-६४-१ ॥

क्रीडित्वा सुचिरं तत्र विचिन्वन्तः पिपासिताः । जलं निरुदके कूपे ददृशुः सत्त्वमद्भुतम् ॥ १०-६४-२ ॥
After playing for a long time, they became thirsty. As they searched for water, they looked inside a dry well and saw a peculiar creature. ॥ 10-64-2 ॥

बहुत समय तक खेलने के बाद, उन्हें प्यास लगी। जब वे पानी की तलाश में थे, तो उन्होंने एक सूखे कुएं में झाँका और वहां एक विचित्र प्राणी देखा। ॥ १०-६४-२ ॥

The boys were astonished to behold this creature, a lizard who looked like a hill. They felt sorry for it and tried to lift it out of the well. ॥ 10-64-3 ॥

लड़के इस प्राणी को देखकर हैरान हो गए, यह छिपकली एक पहाड़ जैसा दिखता था। उन्होंने इस पर तरस खाया और इसे कुएं से बाहर निकालने का प्रयास किया। ॥ १०-६४-३ ॥

चर्मजैस्तान्तवैः पाशैर्बद्ध्वा पतितमर्भकाः । नाशक्नुवन् समुद्धर्तुं कृष्णायाचख्युरुत्सुकाः ॥ १०-६४-४ ॥
They caught on to the trapped lizard with leather thongs and then with woven ropes, but still they could not lift it out. So they went to Lord Kṛṣṇa and excitedly told Him about the creature. ॥ 10-64-4 ॥

उन्होंने फँसी हुई छिपकली को पहले चमड़े की पेटी और फिर बुनी हुई रस्सियों से पकड़ा, लेकिन फिर भी वे उसे बाहर नहीं निकाल सके। इसलिए वे भगवान कृष्ण के पास गए और उत्साहपूर्वक उन्हें प्राणी के बारे में बताया। ॥ १०-६४-४ ॥

तत्रागत्यारविन्दाक्षो भगवान् विश्वभावनः । वीक्ष्योज्जहार वामेन तं करेण स लीलया ॥ १०-६४-५ ॥
The lotus-eyed Supreme Lord, maintainer of the universe, went to the well and saw the lizard. Then with His left hand He easily lifted it out. ॥ 10-64-5 ॥

कमलनयन वाले सर्वोच्च भगवान, ब्रह्मांड के पालनकर्ता, भलाई की ओर झुके और छिपकली को देखा। फिर उन्होंने अपने बाएँ हाथ से उसे आसानी से उठा लिया। ॥ १०-६४-५ ॥
