तद्भौमसैन्यं भगवान् गदाग्रजो विचित्रवाजैर्निशितैः शिलीमुखैः । निकृत्तबाहूरुशिरोध्रविग्रहं चकार तर्ह्येव हताश्वकुञ्जरम् ॥ १०-५९-१६ ॥
At that moment Lord Gadāgraja shot His sharp arrows at Bhaumāsura’s army. These arrows, displaying variegated feathers, soon reduced that army to a mass of bodies with severed arms, thighs and necks. The Lord similarly killed the opposing horses and elephants. ॥ 10-59-16 ॥

उसी समय भगवान गदगराज ने भौमासुर की सेना पर अपने तीखे बाण छोड़े। विभिन्न प्रकार के पंखों को प्रदर्शित करने वाले इन बाणों ने जल्द ही उस सेना को कटी हुई भुजाओं, जांघों और गर्दन वाले शवों के समूह में बदल दिया। भगवान ने इसी प्रकार विरोधी घोड़ों और हाथियों को भी मार डाला। ॥ १०-५९-१६ ॥

यानि योधैः प्रयुक्तानि शस्त्रास्त्राणि कुरूद्वह । हरिस्तान्यच्छिनत्तीक्ष्णैः शरैरेकैकशस्त्रिभिः ॥ १०-५९-१७ ॥
Lord Hari then struck down all the missiles and weapons the enemy soldiers threw at Him, O hero of the Kurus, destroying each and every one with three sharp arrows. ॥ 10-59-17 ॥

तब भगवान हरि ने उन सभी मिसाइलों और हथियारों को नष्ट कर दिया, जो शत्रु सैनिकों ने उन पर फेंके थे, हे कौरवों के नायक, और प्रत्येक को तीन तीखे बाणों से नष्ट कर दिया। ॥ १०-५९-१७ ॥

उह्यमानः सुपर्णेन पक्षाभ्यां निघ्नता गजान् । गरुत्मता हन्यमानास्तुण्डपक्षनखैर्गजाः ॥ १०-५९-१८ ॥
Meanwhile Garuḍa, as he carried the Lord, struck the enemy’s elephants with his wings. Beaten by Garuḍa’s wings, beak and talons, the elephants fled back into the city ॥ 10-59-18 ॥

इसी बीच भगवान को ले जाते समय गरुड़ ने शत्रु के हाथियों को अपने पंखों से मार डाला। गरुड़ के पंखों, चोंच और पंजों से घायल होकर हाथी वापस शहर में भाग गए ॥ १०-५९-१८ ॥

तं भौमः प्राहरच्छक्त्या वज्रः प्रतिहतो यतः । नाकम्पत तया विद्धो मालाहत इव द्विपः ॥ १०-५९-२० ॥
Bhauma attacked him with his spear, which had once defeated Lord Indra’s thunderbolt. But though struck by that mighty weapon, Garuḍa was not shaken. Indeed, he was like an elephant hit with a flower garland. ॥ 10-59-20 ॥
