द्विजस्तयोस्तं महिमानमद्भुतं संलक्ष्य राजन्नतिमानुषीं मतिम् । सम्मन्त्र्य पत्न्या स महार्णवे मृतं बालं प्रभासे वरयाम्बभूव ह ॥ १०-४५-३७ ॥
O King, the learned brāhmaṇa Sāndīpani carefully considered the two Lords’ glorious and amazing qualities and Their superhuman intelligence. Then, after consulting with his wife, he chose as his remuneration the return of his young son, who had died in the ocean at Prabhāsa. ॥ 10-45-37 ॥

हे राजन्, विद्वान ब्राह्मण सान्दीपनि ने दोनों विभुओं के यशस्वी तथा अद्भुत गुणों एवं उनकी अति मानवीय बुद्धि के बारे में ध्यानपूर्वक विचार किया। तत्पश्चात् अपनी पत्नी से परामर्श करके उन्होंने गुरु-दक्षिणा के रूप में अपने नन्हे पुत्र की वापसी को चुना जो प्रभास क्षेत्र के समुद्र में मर चुका था। ॥ १०-४५-३७ ॥
