एषां श्रियावलिप्तानां कृष्णेनाध्मायितात्मनाम् । धुनुत श्रीमदस्तम्भं पशून् नयत सङ्क्षयम् ।। १०-२५-६ ।।

sanskrit

[To the clouds of destruction King Indra said:] The prosperity of these people has made them mad with pride, and their arrogance is backed up by Kṛṣṇa. Now go and remove their pride and bring their animals to destruction. ।। 10-25-6 ।।

english translation

[इन्द्र ने सांवर्तक मेघों से कहा]: इन लोगों की सम्पन्नता ने इन्हें मदोन्मत्त बना दिया है और इनका अक्खड़पन कृष्ण द्वारा समर्थित है। अब तुम जाओ और उनके गर्व को चूर कर दो और उनके पशुओं का विनाश कर डालो। ।। १०-२५-६ ।।

अहं चैरावतं नागमारुह्यानुव्रजे व्रजम् । मरुद्गणैर्महावीर्यैर्नन्दगोष्ठजिघांसया ।। १०-२५-७ ।।

sanskrit

I will follow you to Vraja, riding on my elephant Airāvata and taking with me the swift and powerful wind-gods to decimate the cowherd village of Nanda Mahārāja. ।। 10-25-7 ।।

english translation

मैं अपने हाथी ऐरावत पर चढक़र तथा अपने साथ वेगवान एवं शक्तिशाली वायुदेवों को लेकर नन्द महाराज के ग्वालों के ग्राम को विध्वंस करने के लिए तुम लोगों के पीछे रहूँगा। ।। १०-२५-७ ।।

श्रीशुक उवाच इत्थं मघवताऽऽज्ञप्ता मेघा निर्मुक्तबन्धनाः । नन्दगोकुलमासारैः पीडयामासुरोजसा ।। १०-२५-८ ।।

sanskrit

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: On Indra’s order the clouds of universal destruction, released untimely from their bonds, went to the cowherd pastures of Nanda Mahārāja. There they began to torment the inhabitants by powerfully pouring down torrents of rain upon them. ।। 10-25-8 ।।

english translation

शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा : इन्द्र के आदेश से प्रलयंकारी मेघ समय से पूर्व अपने बन्धनों से मुक्त होकर नन्द महाराज के चरागाहों पर गये। वहाँ वे व्रजवासियों पर मूसलाधार वर्षा करके उन्हें सताने लगे। ।। १०-२५-८ ।।

विद्योतमाना विद्युद्भिः स्तनन्तः स्तनयित्नुभिः । तीव्रैर्मरुद्गणैर्नुन्ना ववृषुर्जलशर्कराः ।। १०-२५-९ ।।

sanskrit

Propelled by the fearsome wind-gods, the clouds blazed with lightning bolts and roared with thunder as they hurled down hailstones. ।। 10-25-9 ।।

english translation

भयानक वायुदेवों द्वारा उत्प्रेरित बादल बिजलियों की चमक से प्रज्ज्वलित हो उठे और ओलों की वर्षा करते हुए कडक़ड़ाहट के साथ गरजने लगे। ।। १०-२५-९ ।।

स्थूणास्थूला वर्षधारा मुञ्चत्स्वभ्रेष्वभीक्ष्णशः । जलौघैः प्लाव्यमाना भूर्नादृश्यत नतोन्नतम् ।। १०-२५-१० ।।

sanskrit

As the clouds released torrents of rain as thick as massive columns, the earth was submerged in the flood, and high ground could no longer be distinguished from low. ।। 10-25-10 ।।

english translation

जब बादलों ने बड़े-बड़े ख भों जैसी मोटी वर्षा की धाराएँ गिराईं तो पृथ्वी बाढ़ से जलमग्न हो गई और ऊँची या नीची भूमि का पता नहीं चल पा रहा था। ।। १०-२५-१० ।।
