यमुनोपवनेऽशोकनवपल्लवमण्डिते । विचरन्तं वृतं गोपैः साग्रजं ददृशुः स्त्रियः ॥ १०-२३-२१ ॥
Along the river Yamunā, within a garden decorated with buds of aśoka trees, they caught sight of Him strolling along in the company of the cowherd boys and His elder brother, Balarāma. ॥ 10-23-21 ॥

उन्होंने यमुना नदी के किनारे अशोक वृक्षों की कोपलों से सुशोभित एक बगीचे में ग्वालबालों तथा अपने बड़े भाई बलराम के साथ विचरण करते हुए कृष्ण को देख लिया। ॥ १०-२३-२१ ॥

His complexion was dark blue and His garment golden. Wearing a peacock feather, colored minerals, sprigs of flower buds, and a garland of forest flowers and leaves, He was dressed just like a dramatic dancer. He rested one hand upon the shoulder of a friend and with the other twirled a lotus. Lilies graced His ears, His hair hung down over His cheeks, and His lotuslike face was smiling. ॥ 10-23-22 ॥

उनका रंग श्यामल था और वस्त्र सुनहले थे। वे मोरपंख, रंगीन खनिज, फूल की कलियों का गुच्छा तथा जंगल के फूलों और पत्तियों की वनमाला धारण किये हुए नाटक के नर्तक की भाँति वेश बनाये थे। वे अपना एक हाथ अपने मित्र के कंधे पर रखे थे और दूसरे से कमल का फूल घुमा रहे थे। उनके कानों में कुमुदिनियाँ सुशोभित थीं, उनके बाल गालों पर लटक रहे थे और उनका कमल सदृश मुख हँसी से युक्त था। ॥ १०-२३-२२ ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रायः श्रुतप्रियतमोदयकर्णपूरैर्यस्मिन्निमग्नमनसस्तमथाक्षिरन्ध्रैः । अन्तः प्रवेश्य सुचिरं परिरभ्य तापं प्राज्ञं यथाभिमतयो विजहुर्नरेन्द्र ॥ १०-२३-२३ ॥
O ruler of men, for a long time those brāhmaṇa ladies had heard about Kṛṣṇa, their beloved, and His glories had become the constant ornaments of their ears. Indeed, their minds were always absorbed in Him. Through the apertures of their eyes they now forced Him to enter within their hearts, and then they embraced Him within for a long time. In this way they finally gave up the pain of separation from Him, just as sages give up the anxiety of false ego by embracing their innermost consciousness. ॥ 10-23-23 ॥

हे नरेन्द्र, उन ब्राह्मणपत्नियों ने दीर्घकाल से अपने प्रिय कृष्ण के विषय में सुन रखा था और उनका यश उनके कानों का स्थायी आभूषण बन चुका था। उनके मन सदैव उन्हीं में लीन रहते थे। अब उन्होंने अपने नेत्रों के छिद्रों से होकर उन्हें अपने हृदय में प्रविष्ट कर लिया और फिर दीर्घकाल तक अपने हृदय के भीतर उनका आलिंगन करती रहीं। इस तरह अन्तत: उनकी वियोग-पीड़ा उसी प्रकार जाती रही जिस प्रकार कि मुनिगण अपने अन्त:करण का आलिंगन करने से मिथ्या अहंकार की चिन्ता त्याग देते हैं। ॥ १०-२३-२३ ॥

prAyaH zrutapriyatamodayakarNapUrairyasminnimagnamanasastamathAkSirandhraiH । antaH pravezya suciraM parirabhya tApaM prAjJaM yathAbhimatayo vijahurnarendra ॥ 10-23-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतास्तथा त्यक्तसर्वाशाः प्राप्ता आत्मदिदृक्षया । विज्ञायाखिलदृग्द्रष्टा प्राह प्रहसिताननः ॥ १०-२३-२४ ॥
Lord Kṛṣṇa, who witnesses the thoughts of all creatures, understood how those ladies had abandoned all worldly hopes and come there simply to see Him. Thus He addressed them as follows with a smile upon His face. ॥ 10-23-24 ॥

समस्त प्राणियों के विचारों के साक्षी भगवान् कृष्ण यह समझ गये कि किस तरह अपनी सारी सांसारिक आशाओं का परित्याग करके ये स्त्रियाँ केवल उन्हें ही देखने आई हैं। अत: अपने मुख पर हँसी लाते हुए उनसे उन्होंने इस प्रकार कहा। ॥ १०-२३-२४ ॥

tAstathA tyaktasarvAzAH prAptA AtmadidRkSayA । vijJAyAkhiladRgdraSTA prAha prahasitAnanaH ॥ 10-23-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्वागतं वो महाभागा आस्यतां करवाम किम् । यन्नो दिदृक्षया प्राप्ता उपपन्नमिदं हि वः ॥ १०-२३-२५ ॥
॥ Lord Kṛṣṇa said:॥ Welcome, O most fortunate ladies. Please sit down and make yourselves comfortable. What can I do for you? That you have come here to see Me is most appropriate. ॥ 10-23-25 ॥

॥ भगवान् कृष्ण ने कहा॥: हे परम भाग्यशालिनी महिलाओ, स्वागत है। कृपया आराम से बैठें। मैं आपके लिये क्या कर सकता हूँ? आप मुझे देखने के लिए यहाँ आईं यह बहुत ही उपयुक्त है। ॥ १०-२३-२५ ॥
