गावो मृगाः खगा नार्यः पुष्पिण्यः शरदाभवन् । अन्वीयमानाः स्ववृषैः फलैरीशक्रिया इव ।। १०-२०-४६ ।।

sanskrit

By the influence of the autumn season, all the cows, doe, women and female birds became fertile and were followed by their respective mates in search of sexual enjoyment, just as activities performed for the service of the Supreme Lord are automatically followed by all beneficial results. ।। 10-20-46 ।।

english translation

शरद ऋतु के प्रभाव से सारी गौवें, मृगियाँ, स्त्रियाँ तथा चिडिय़ाँ ऋतुमती हो गईं और मैथुन सुख की खोज में उनके अपने-अपने जोड़े उनका पीछा करने लगे जिस प्रकार भगवान् की सेवा में किये गये कार्य स्वत: सभी प्रकार के लाभप्रद फल देते हैं। ।। १०-२०-४६ ।।

उदहृष्यन् वारिजानि सूर्योत्थाने कुमुद्विना । राज्ञा तु निर्भया लोका यथा दस्यून् विना नृप ।। १०-२०-४७ ।।

sanskrit

O King Parīkṣit, when the autumn sun rose, all the lotus flowers blossomed happily, except the night-blooming kumut, just as in the presence of a strong ruler everyone becomes fearless, except the thieves. ।। 10-20-47 ।।

english translation

हे राजा परीक्षित, जब शरदकालीन सूर्य उदित हुआ तो रात में फूलनेवाली कुमुदिनी के अतिरिक्त सारे कमल के फूल प्रसन्नतापूर्वक खिल गये जिस तरह कि सशक्त शासक की उपस्थिति में चोरों के अतिरिक्त सारे लोग निर्भय रहते हैं। ।। १०-२०-४७ ।।

पुरग्रामेष्वाग्रयणैरिन्द्रियैश्च महोत्सवैः । बभौ भूः पक्वसस्याढ्या कलाभ्यां नितरां हरेः ।। १०-२०-४८ ।।

sanskrit

In all the towns and villages people held great festivals, performing the Vedic fire sacrifice for honoring and tasting the first grains of the new harvest, along with similar celebrations that followed local custom and tradition. Thus the earth, rich with newly grown grain and especially beautified by the presence of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, shone beautifully as an expansion of the Supreme Lord. ।। 10-20-48 ।।

english translation

सभी नगरों तथा ग्रामों में लोगों ने नई फसल के नवान्न का स्वागत और आस्वादन करने के लिए वैदिक अग्नि-यज्ञ करके तथा स्थानीय प्रथा एवं परम्परा का अनुसरण करते हुए अन्य ऐसे ही समारोहों सहित बड़े-बड़े उत्सव मनाए। इस तरह नवान्न से समृद्ध एवं कृष्ण तथा बलराम की उपस्थिति के कारण विशेषतया सुन्दर दिखने वाली पृथ्वी भगवान् के अंश रूप में सुशोभित हो उठी। ।। १०-२०-४८ ।।

वणिङ्मुनिनृपस्नाता निर्गम्यार्थान् प्रपेदिरे । वर्षरुद्धा यथा सिद्धाः स्वपिण्डान् काल आगते ।। १०-२०-४९ ।।

The merchants, sages, kings and brahmacārī students, kept in by the rain, were at last free to go out and attain their desired objects, just as those who achieve perfection in this life can, when the proper time comes, leave the material body and attain their respective forms. ।। 10-20-49 ।।

english translation

व्यापारी, मुनिजन, राजा तथा ब्रह्मचारी विद्यार्थी, जो वर्षा के कारण जहाँ तहाँ अटके पड़े थे अब बाहर जाने और अपने अभीष्ट पदार्थ प्राप्त करने के लिए स्वतंत्र थे जिस तरह इसी जीवन में सिद्धि प्राप्त व्यक्ति उपयुक्त समय आने पर भौतिक शरीर त्यागकर अपने अपने स्वरूप प्राप्त करते हैं। ।। १०-२०-४९ ।।
