ततः समन्ताद्वनधूमकेतुर्यदृच्छयाभूत्क्षयकृद्वनौकसाम् । समीरितः सारथिनोल्बणोल्मुकैर्विलेलिहानः स्थिरजङ्गमान् महान् ।। १०-१९-७ ।।

sanskrit

Suddenly a great forest fire appeared on all sides, threatening to destroy all the forest creatures. Like a chariot driver, the wind swept the fire onward, and terrible sparks shot in all directions. Indeed, the great fire extended its tongues of flame toward all moving and nonmoving creatures. ।। 10-19-7 ।।

english translation

सहसा चारों दिशाओं में महान् दावाग्नि प्रकट हुई जिससे जंगल के समस्त प्राणियों के नष्ट होने का संकट उत्पन्न हो गया। सारथी तुल्य वायु, अग्नि को आगे बढ़ाती जा रही थी और चारों ओर भयानक चिनगारियाँ निकल रही थीं। निस्सन्देह, इस महान् अग्नि ने अपनी ज्वालाओं रूपी जिह्वाओं को समस्त चल और अचर प्राणियों की और लपलपा दिया था। ।। १०-१९-७ ।।
