Srimad Bhagavatam
तत्रैकदा जलचरं गरुडो भक्ष्यमीप्सितम् । निवारितः सौभरिणा प्रसह्य क्षुधितोऽहरत् ॥ १०-१७-९ ॥
In that very lake Garuḍa had once desired to eat a fish — fish being, after all, his normal food. Although forbidden by the sage Saubhari, who was meditating there within the water, Garuḍa took courage and, feeling hungry, seized the fish. ॥ 10-17-9 ॥
english translation
उसी सरोवर में गरुड़ ने एक बार एक मछली को, जो कि उसका सामान्य भक्ष्य है, खाना चाहा। जल के भीतर ध्यानमग्न सौभरि मुनि के मना करने पर भी गरुड़ ने साहस किया और भूखा होने के कारण उस मछली को पकड़ लिया। ॥ १०-१७-९ ॥
