तच्छ्रुत्वा कुपितो राजन् भगवान् भगवत्प्रियः । विजिघांसुर्महावेगः कालियं समुपाद्रवत् ॥ १०-१७-५ ॥
O King, the greatly powerful Garuḍa, who is very dear to the Supreme Lord, became angry when he heard of this. Desiring to kill Kāliya, he rushed toward the serpent with tremendous speed. ॥ 10-17-5 ॥

हे राजन्, जब भगवान् के अत्यन्त प्रिय, परम शक्तिशाली गरुड़ ने यह सुना तो वह क्रुद्ध हो उठा। वह कालिय को मार डालने के लिए उसकी ओर तेजी से झपटा। ॥ १०-१७-५ ॥
