अन्तर्ह्रदे भुजगभोगपरीतमारात्कृष्णं निरीहमुपलभ्य जलाशयान्ते । गोपांश्च मूढधिषणान् परितः पशूंश्च सङ्क्रन्दतः परमकश्मलमापुरार्ताः ॥ १०-१६-१९ ॥
As they hurried along the path to the bank of the Yamunā River, they saw from a distance that Kṛṣṇa was in the lake, motionless within the coils of the black serpent. They further saw that the cowherd boys had fallen unconscious and that the animals were standing on all sides, crying out for Kṛṣṇa. Seeing all this, the residents of Vṛndāvana were overwhelmed with anguish and confusion. ॥ 10-16-19 ॥

ज्योंही वे यमुना नदी के किनारे की ओर भागे जा रहे थे त्योंही उन्होंने दूर से देखा कि कृष्ण सरोवर में काले साँप की कुण्डली में निश्चेष्ट पड़े हैं। उन्होंने यह भी देखा कि सारे ग्वालबाल मूर्छित होकर पड़े हैं और सारे पशु उनके चारों ओर खड़े होकर कृष्ण के लिए रम्भा रहे हैं। यह दृश्य देखकर वृन्दावनवासी वेदना तथा भ्रम के कारण विह्वल हो उठे। ॥ १०-१६-१९ ॥
