एवमेतेषु भेदेषु चिरं ध्यात्वा स आत्मभूः । सत्याः के कतरे नेति ज्ञातुं नेष्टे कथञ्चन ॥ १०-१३-४३ ॥
Thus Lord Brahmā, thinking and thinking for a long time, tried to distinguish between those two sets of boys, who were each separately existing. He tried to understand who was real and who was not real, but he couldn’t understand at all. ॥ 10-13-43 ॥

इस तरह दीर्घकाल तक विचार करते करते भगवान् ब्रह्मा ने उन दो प्रकार के बालकों में अन्तर जानने का प्रयास किया जो एक-दूसरे से पृथक् रह रहे थे। वे यह जानने का प्रयास करते रहे कि कौन असली है और कौन नकली है किन्तु वे कुछ भी नहीं समझ पाये। ॥ १०-१३-४३ ॥
