व्रजौकसां स्वतोकेषु स्नेहवल्ल्याब्दमन्वहम् । शनैर्निःसीम ववृधे यथा कृष्णे त्वपूर्ववत् ।। १०-१३-२६ ।।

sanskrit

Although the inhabitants of Vrajabhūmi, the cowherd men and cowherd women, previously had more affection for Kṛṣṇa than for their own children, now, for one year, their affection for their own sons continuously increased, for Kṛṣṇa had now become their sons. There was no limit to the increment of their affection for their sons, who were now Kṛṣṇa. Every day they found new inspiration for loving their children as much as they loved Kṛṣṇa. ।। 10-13-26 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि व्रजभूमि के सारे निवासियों—ग्वालों तथा गोपियों—में पहले से ही कृष्ण के लिए अपने निजी पुत्रों से अधिक स्नेह था किन्तु अब एक वर्ष तक उनके अपने पुत्रों के प्रति यह स्नेह लगातार बढ़ता ही गया क्योंकि अब कृष्ण उनके पुत्र बन चुके थे। अब अपने पुत्रों के प्रति, जो कि कृष्ण ही थे, उनके प्रेम की वृद्धि का कोई वारापार न था। नित्य ही उन्हें अपने पुत्रों से कृष्ण जितना प्रेम करने की नई प्रेरणा प्राप्त हो रही थी। ।। १०-१३-२६ ।।

In this way, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, having Himself become the cowherd boys and groups of calves, maintained Himself by Himself. Thus He continued His pastimes, both in Vṛndāvana and in the forest, for one year. ।। 10-13-27 ।।

english translation

इस तरह अपने को ग्वालबालों तथा बछड़ों का समूह बना लेने के बाद भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण अपने को उसी रूप में बनाये रहे। वे उसी प्रकार से वृन्दावन तथा जंगल दोनों ही जगहों में एक वर्ष तक अपनी लीलाएँ करते रहे। ।। १०-१३-२७ ।।

One day, five or six nights before the completion of the year, Kṛṣṇa, tending the calves, entered the forest along with Balarāma. ।। 10-13-28 ।।

एक दिन जबकि वर्ष पूरा होने में अभी पाँच-छ: रातें शेष थीं कृष्ण बलराम सहित बछड़ों को चराते हुए जंगल में प्रविष्ट हुए। ।। १०-१३-२८ ।।

Thereafter, while pasturing atop Govardhana Hill, the cows looked down to find some green grass and saw their calves pasturing near Vṛndāvana, not very far away. ।। 10-13-29 ।।

english translation

तत्पश्चात् गोवर्धन पर्वत की चोटी पर चरती हुई गौवों ने कुछ हरी घास खोजने के लिए नीचे देखा तो उन्होंने अपने बछड़ों को वृन्दावन के निकट चरते देखा जो अधिक दूरी पर नहीं था। ।। १०-१३-२९ ।।

When the cows saw their own calves from the top of Govardhana Hill, they forgot themselves and their caretakers because of increased affection, and although the path was very rough, they ran toward their calves with great anxiety, each running as if with one pair of legs. Their milk bags full and flowing with milk, their heads and tails raised, and their humps moving with their necks, they ran forcefully until they reached their calves to feed them. ।। 10-13-30 ।।

english translation

जब गायों ने गोवर्धन पर्वत की चोटी से अपने अपने बछड़ों को देखा तो वे अधिक स्नेहवश अपने आप को तथा अपने चराने वालों को भूल गईं और दुर्गम मार्ग होते हुए भी वे अपने बछड़ों की ओर अतीव चिन्तित होकर दौीं मानो वे दो ही पाँवों से दौड़ रही हों। उनके थन दूध से भरे थे और उनमें से दूध बह रहा था, उनके सिर तथा पूछें उठी हुई थीं और उनके डिल्ले (कूबड़) उनकी गर्दन के साथ साथ हिल रहे थे। वे तब तक तेजी से दौड़ती रहीं जब तक वे अपने बच्चों के पास दूध पिलाने पहुँच नहीं गईं। ।। १०-१३-३० ।।
