अथाप्यभिभवन्त्येनं नैव ते घोरदर्शनाः । जिघांसयैनमासाद्य नश्यन्त्यग्नौ पतङ्गवत् ।। १०-११-५६ ।।

sanskrit

Although the causes of death, the daityas, were very fierce, they could not kill this boy Kṛṣṇa. Rather, because they came to kill innocent boys, as soon as they approached they themselves were killed, exactly like flies attacking a fire. ।। 10-11-56 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि मृत्यु के कारणरूप दैत्यगण अत्यन्त भयावने थे किन्तु वे इस बालक कृष्ण को मार नहीं पाये। चूँकि वे निर्दोष बालकों को मारने आये थे इसलिए ज्योंही वे उनके निकट पहुँचे त्योंही वे उसी तरह मारे गये जिस तरह अग्नि पर आक्रमण करने वाले पतङ्गे मारे जाते हैं। ।। १०-११-५६ ।।

अहो ब्रह्मविदां वाचो नासत्याः सन्ति कर्हिचित् । गर्गो यदाह भगवानन्वभावि तथैव तत् ।। १०-११-५७ ।।

sanskrit

The words of persons in full knowledge of Brahman never become untrue. It is very wonderful that whatever Garga Muni predicted we are now actually experiencing in all detail. ।। 10-11-57 ।।

english translation

ब्रह्म-ज्ञान से युक्त पुरुषों के शब्द कभी झूठे नहीं निकलते। यह बड़े ही आश्चर्य की बात है कि गर्गमुनि ने जो भी भविष्यवाणी की थी उसे ही हम विस्तार से वस्तुत: अनुभव कर रहे हैं। ।। १०-११-५७ ।।

aho brahmavidAM vAco nAsatyAH santi karhicit | gargo yadAha bhagavAnanvabhAvi tathaiva tat || 10-11-57 ||

इति नन्दादयो गोपाः कृष्णरामकथां मुदा । कुर्वन्तो रममाणाश्च नाविन्दन् भववेदनाम् ।। १०-११-५८ ।।

sanskrit

In this way all the cowherd men, headed by Nanda Mahārāja, enjoyed topics about the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma with great transcendental pleasure, and they could not even perceive material tribulations. ।। 10-11-58 ।।

english translation

इस तरह नन्द समेत सारे ग्वालों को कृष्ण तथा बलराम की लीलाओं सम्बन्धी कथाओं में बड़ा ही दिव्य आनन्द आया और उन्हें भौतिक कष्टों का पता तक नहीं चला। ।। १०-११-५८ ।।

iti nandAdayo gopAH kRSNarAmakathAM mudA | kurvanto ramamANAzca nAvindan bhavavedanAm || 10-11-58 ||

एवं विहारैः कौमारैः कौमारं जहतुर्व्रजे । निलायनैः सेतुबन्धैर्मर्कटोत्प्लवनादिभिः ।। १०-११-५९ ।।

sanskrit

In this way Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma passed Their childhood age in Vrajabhūmi by engaging in activities of childish play, such as playing hide-and-seek, constructing a make-believe bridge on the ocean, and jumping here and there like monkeys. ।। 10-11-59 ।।

english translation

इस तरह कृष्ण तथा बलराम ने व्रजभूमि में बच्चों के खेलों में, यथा आँख-मिचौनी खेलने, समुद्र में पुल बनाने का स्वांग करने तथा बन्दरों की तरह इधर-उधर कूदने-फाँदने में अपनी बाल्यावस्था व्यतीत की। ।। १०-११-५९ ।।
