सेमां वे॑तु॒ वष॑ट्कृतिम॒ग्निर्जु॑षत नो॒ गिर॑: । यजि॑ष्ठो हव्य॒वाह॑नः ॥ सेमां वेतु वषट्कृतिमग्निर्जुषत नो गिरः । यजिष्ठो हव्यवाहनः ॥
May that most adorable Agni, the bearer of oblations, accept our offering, gratified by our praises.
english translation
नि त्वा॑ नक्ष्य विश्पते द्यु॒मन्तं॑ देव धीमहि । सु॒वीर॑मग्न आहुत ॥ नि त्वा नक्ष्य विश्पते द्युमन्तं देव धीमहि । सुवीरमग्न आहुत ॥
Divine Agni, the approachable; the lord of men, the invoked of all, we set you down (upon the altar), theresplendent, the righteously glorified.

क्षप॑ उ॒स्रश्च॑ दीदिहि स्व॒ग्नय॒स्त्वया॑ व॒यम् । सु॒वीर॒स्त्वम॑स्म॒युः ॥ क्षप उस्रश्च दीदिहि स्वग्नयस्त्वया वयम् । सुवीरस्त्वमस्मयुः ॥
Blaze, Agni, night and day, that by you we may be possessed of sacred fires; may you, friendly to us,be righteously praised.

उप॑ त्वा सा॒तये॒ नरो॒ विप्रा॑सो यन्ति धी॒तिभि॑: । उपाक्ष॑रा सह॒स्रिणी॑ ॥ उप त्वा सातये नरो विप्रासो यन्ति धीतिभिः । उपाक्षरा सहस्रिणी ॥
Wise men approach with sacred rites for the acquisition of riches; perpetual, infinite (praise isaddressed to you).

अ॒ग्नी रक्षां॑सि सेधति शु॒क्रशो॑चि॒रम॑र्त्यः । शुचि॑: पाव॒क ईड्य॑: ॥ अग्नी रक्षांसि सेधति शुक्रशोचिरमर्त्यः । शुचिः पावक ईड्यः ॥
May the bright, radiant, immortal, pure, purifying, adorable Agni, keep off the rākṣasas.
