म॒हाँ अ॑स्यध्व॒रस्य॑ प्रके॒तो न ऋ॒ते त्वद॒मृता॑ मादयन्ते । आ विश्वे॑भिः स॒रथं॑ याहि दे॒वैर्न्य॑ग्ने॒ होता॑ प्रथ॒मः स॑दे॒ह ॥ महाँ अस्यध्वरस्य प्रकेतो न ऋते त्वदमृता मादयन्ते । आ विश्वेभिः सरथं याहि देवैर्न्यग्ने होता प्रथमः सदेह ॥

Great are you, Agni, the manifester of the solemnity without you the immortals do not rejoice; come inthe same chariot with all the gods; sit down here the chief, the ministrant priest.

Men offering oblations, ever solicit you the quick-going (to undertake) the office of their messenger, forto him, on whose sacred grass you sit with the gods, the days are prosperous.

In you, Agni, thrice in the day, (the priests) make manifest the treasures (of the oblation) for (the benefitof the) mortal donor; worship the gods on this occasion, Agni, as (you did) for Manu; be our messenger, ourprotector against malignity.

Agni presides over the solemn rite, over every consecrated oblation; the Vasus approved of his acts;the gods have made him the bearer of the offering.
