तद्राजगुणसम्पन्नं मुख्यैश्चागुरुचन्दनैः । महाजनैः समाकीर्णां सिंहैरिव महद्वनम् ॥ ५-६-११
The place was full of eminent demons with royal traits like a dense forest infested with lions. It carried the fragrance of agaru and sandal of good quality. ॥ 5-6-11॥

tadrAjaguNasampannaM mukhyaizcAgurucandanaiH । mahAjanaiH samAkIrNAM siMhairiva mahadvanam ॥ 5-6-11
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभेरीमृदङ्गाभिरुतं शङ्खघोषनिनादितम् । नित्यार्चितं पर्वहुतं पूजितं राक्षसैः सदा ॥ ५-६-१२
Reverberating with the sounds of trumpets, mridangam and conches, there the demons daily performed worships and sacrifices on new and fullmoon days. ॥ 5-6-12॥

bherImRdaGgAbhirutaM zaGkhaghoSaninAditam । nityArcitaM parvahutaM pUjitaM rAkSasaiH sadA ॥ 5-6-12
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमुद्रमिव गम्भीरं समुद्रमिव निस्स्वनम् । महात्मनो महाद्वेश्म महारत्नपरिच्छदम् ॥ ५-६-१३
The place produced deep sounds like the sea. Those mighty ogres wore gems-studded ornaments. The residence of the great self, Ravana . - ॥ 5-6-13॥

samudramiva gambhIraM samudramiva nissvanam । mahAtmano mahAdvezma mahAratnaparicchadam ॥ 5-6-13

- rich with precious gems was seen by the great vanara. He saw the royal mansion looking brilliant with elephants, horses and chariots. ॥ 5-6-14॥

Hanuman, the great monkey thought that the palace was the very ornament of Lanka. He moved unnoticed into the close quarters of Ravana. ॥ 5-6-15॥
