जघान हनुमान् वीरो राक्षसौ कपिकुञ्जरः । ततस्तेष्ववसन्नेषु सेनापतिषु पञ्चसु ॥ ५-४६-३६
- Hanuman, a courageous and mighty elephant among the monkeys killed both the demon generals. When the five army chiefs were killed - ॥ 5-46-36॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptबलं तदवशेषं च नाशयामास वानरः । अश्वैरश्वान् गजैर्नागान् योधैर्योधान् रथैरथान् ॥ ५-४६-३७
- Hanuman began to destoy the remaining army force. Horses against horses, elephants against elephants, warriors against warriors and chariots against chariots were pitted . - ॥ 5-46-37॥

balaM tadavazeSaM ca nAzayAmAsa vAnaraH । azvairazvAn gajairnAgAn yodhairyodhAn rathairathAn ॥ 5-46-37
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस कपिर्नाशयामास सहस्राक्ष इवासुरान् । हतैर्नागैश्च तुरगैर्भग्नाक्षैश्च महारथैः । हतैश्च राक्षसैर्भूमी रुद्धमार्गा समन्ततः ॥ ५-४६-३८
- by the vanara as Indra destroyed demons. There was no path (one could not move forward) with elephants, and horses killed and with broken axles of great chariots and smashed chariots spread all over the way. ॥ 5-46-38॥

sa kapirnAzayAmAsa sahasrAkSa ivAsurAn । hatairnAgaizca turagairbhagnAkSaizca mahArathaiH । hataizca rAkSasairbhUmI ruddhamArgA samantataH ॥ 5-46-38
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः कपिस्तान्ध्वजिनीपतीन् रणे निहत्य वीरान्सबलान्सवाहनान् । समीक्ष्य वीरः परिगृह्य तोरणं कृतक्षणः काल इव प्रजाक्षये ॥ ५-४६-३९
Then the heroic monkey having killed the army generals and their army and destroyed their vehicles in war came back to the archway after reviewing and stood like the timespirit bent upon the destruction of humanity. ॥ 5-46-39॥
