Powerful Hanuman with all vehemence lifted the rock and hurled it at the giant which he angrily smashed with ten arrows. ॥ 5-44-11॥

विपन्नं कर्म तद्दृष्ट्वा हनुमांश्चण्डविक्रमः । सालं विपुलमुत्पाट्य भ्रामयामास वीर्यवान् ॥ ५-४४-१२

Hanuman, a strong, powerful and fierce warrior pulled out a sala tree and whirled it. Seeing that his attempt has failed. ॥ 5-44-12॥

भ्रामयन्तं कपिं दृष्ट्वा सालवृक्षं महाबलम् । चिक्षेप सुबहून्बाणान्जम्बुमाली महाबलः ॥ ५-४४-१३

Gigantic Jambumali seeing the mighty Hanuman whirling the sala tree fired many arrows at him. ॥ 5-44-13॥

सालं चतुर्भिश्चिच्छेद वानरं पञ्चभिर्भुजे । उरस्येकेन बाणेन दशभिस्तु स्तनान्तरे ॥ ५-४४-१४

He struck the sala tree with four arows, the arm of Hanuman with five arrows, chest with one, the hollow of the chest with ten more arrows. ॥ 5-44-14॥

स शरैः पूरिततनु: क्रोधेन महता वृतः । तमेव परिघं गृह्य भ्रामयामास वेगितः ॥ ५-४४-१५

Hanuman filled with arrows all over his body, seized an iron spear (which he made use of in the initial battle) and impetuously spun it in intense anger. ॥ 5-44-15॥
