संहृत्य च भुजौ श्रीमांस्तथैव च शिरोधराम् । तेजः सत्त्वं तथा वीर्यमाविवेश स वीर्यवान् ॥ ५-१-३६

मार्गमालोकयन्दूरादूर्ध्वं प्रणिहितेक्षणः । रुरोध हृदये प्राणानाकाशमवलोकयन् ॥ ५-१-३७
Having cast his eyes upward in order to view the distance and direction in which he had to leap, he restrained his breath in the chest while looking at the sky. [5-1-37]

पद्भ्यां दृढमवस्थानं कृत्वा स कपिकुञ्जरः । निकुञ्च्य कर्णौ हनुमानुत्पतिष्यन् महाबलः ॥ ५-१-३८

वानरान् वानरश्रेष्ठ इदं वचनमब्रवीत् । यथा राघवनिर्मुक्तः शरः श्वसनविक्रमः ॥ ५-१-३९

गच्छेत्तद्वद्गमिष्यामि लङ्कां रावणपालिताम् । न हि द्रक्ष्यामि यदि तां लङ्कायां जनकात्मजाम् ॥ ५-१-४०
