रामेण हि महाराज महत्यां जनसंसदि । अस्मै देया मया सीता वीर्यशुल्का महात्मने ॥ १-६८-११
- Rama in the assembly of people, Oh ! Great king ( Dasharatha ), it ( the divine bow ) was with its limitless glory. Seeta is fit to be given in marriage to this eminent one ( Rama ) as a reward for his prowess. ॥ 1-68-11॥
english translation
rAmeNa hi mahArAja mahatyAM janasaMsadi । asmai deyA mayA sItA vIryazulkA mahAtmane ॥ 1-68-11
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रतिज्ञां तर्तुमिच्छामि तदनुज्ञातुमर्हसि । सोपाध्यायो महाराज पुरोहितपुरस्सर: ॥ १-६८-१२
I request you to give your consent to fulfil my vow. Oh ! Mighty king, with your preceptors and official priest walking ahead . - ॥ 1-68-11॥
english translation
pratijJAM tartumicchAmi tadanujJAtumarhasi । sopAdhyAyo mahArAja purohitapurassara: ॥ 1-68-12
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशीघ्रमागच्छ भद्रं ते द्रष्टुमर्हसि राघवौ । प्रीतिं च मम राजेन्द्र निर्वर्तयितुमर्हसि। ॥ १-६८-१३
- come here soon, Be blessed. For it will be apt of you to take a look at ennobled Raaghava-s ( Rama and Lakshmana ). Oh ! Indra among kings, you will not only bring me pleasure - ॥ 1-68-13॥
english translation
zIghramAgaccha bhadraM te draSTumarhasi rAghavau । prItiM ca mama rAjendra nirvartayitumarhasi। ॥ 1-68-13
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुत्रयोरुभयोरेव प्रीतिं त्वमपि लप्स्यसे । एवं विदेहाधिपतिर्मधुरं वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥ १-६८-१४
- you will also be happy to see your sons. Thus the sovereign of Videha kingdom said these endearing words - ॥ 1-68-14॥
english translation
putrayorubhayoreva prItiM tvamapi lapsyase । evaM videhAdhipatirmadhuraM vAkyamabravIt ॥ 1-68-14
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविश्वामित्राभ्यनुज्ञात श्शतानन्दमते स्थित: । इत्युक्त्वा विरता दूता राजगौरवशङ्किता: ॥ १-६८-१५
- abiding by the counsel of Sage Shataananda and Sage Vishvamitra is also consentient to the proposal.' The messengers having said so concluded out of respect for their king (afraid that they might look overtalkative). ॥ 1-68-15॥

vizvAmitrAbhyanujJAta zzatAnandamate sthita: । ityuktvA viratA dUtA rAjagauravazaGkitA: ॥ 1-68-15
