अथ दृष्ट्वा सहस्राक्षं मुनिवेषधरं मुनिः । दुर्वृत्तं वृत्तसंपन्नो रोषाद्वचनमब्रवीत् ॥ १-४८-२६
Then the well-behaved Gautama furiously spoke these words on seeing the ill-behaved Thousand-eyed Indra who was donning the guise of a saint. [1-48-26]
english translation
मम रूपं समास्थाय कृतवानसि दुर्मते । अकर्तव्यमिदं यस्मात् विफलस्त्वं भविष्यति ॥ १-४८-२७
- 'Oh ! Wicked natured one assuming my form you have done a forbidden act. For that reason you shall be devoid of scrotum.' [1-48-27]
english translation
गौतमेनैवमुक्तस्य स रोषेण महात्मना । पेततुर्वृषणौ भूमौ सहस्राक्षस्य तत्क्षणात् ॥ १-४८-२८
When that great-souled sage Gautama spoke that way with rancour, the testicles of the cursed Thousand-eyed Indra fell down onto ground at that very moment. [1-48-28]

तथा शप्त्वा च वै शक्रं भार्यामपि च शप्तवान् । इह वर्षसहस्राणि बहूनि निवसिष्यसि ॥ १-४८-२९
Having thus cursed Indra, he also cursed his wife ( Ahalya ) : 'You will be staying here for thousands of years . - [1-48-29]
english translation
वायुभक्षा निराहारा तप्यन्ती भस्मशायिनी । अदृश्या सर्वभूतानामाश्रमेऽस्मिन् निवत्स्यसि ॥ १-४८-३०
- without food and subsisting on air, lying down in ashes, doing penance, without being seen by any living beings in this ashrama'. [1-48-30]
