रुदितं व्यपमृष्टास्रं चन्द्रवत्प्रियदर्शनम् | सुनासं चारुताम्रोष्ठमाकाशे हाटकप्रभम् || ३-५२-२१

sanskrit

She was continuously weeping and wiping her tears. Yet, with a nice nose and lovely red lips, having golden glow, she was pleasing like the Moon in the sky. [3-52-21]

ruditaM vyapamRSTAsraM candravatpriyadarzanam | sunAsaM cArutAmroSThamAkAze hATakaprabham || 3-52-21

राक्षसेन समाधूतं तस्यास्तद्वदनं शुभम् | शुशुभे न विना रामंदिवा चन्द्र इवोदितः || ३-५२-२२

Shaken up by the demon and deprived of Rama's company, Sita's beautiful face looked like the Moon during daytime without any glow. [3-52-22]

english translation

rAkSasena samAdhUtaM tasyAstadvadanaM zubham | zuzubhe na vinA rAmaMdivA candra ivoditaH || 3-52-22

सा हेमवर्णा नीलाङ्गं मैथिली राक्षसाधिपम् | शुशुभे काञ्चनी काञ्ची नीलं मणिमिवाश्रिता || ३-५२-२३

Golden-complexioned Sita, princess of Mithila, held by the darkcoloured king of the demons, shone like a girdle resting on a dark blue sapphire. [3-52-23]

sA hemavarNA nIlAGgaM maithilI rAkSasAdhipam | zuzubhe kAJcanI kAJcI nIlaM maNimivAzritA || 3-52-23

सा पद्मगौरी हेमाभा रावणं जनकात्मजा | विद्युद्घनमिवाविश्य शुशुभे तप्तभूषणा || ३-५२-२४

sanskrit

Bright like a golden lotus, adorned with gold ornaments, Sita, the daughter of Janaka, held by Ravana, looked like a streak of lightning shining bright in a dark cloud. [3-52-24]

sA padmagaurI hemAbhA rAvaNaM janakAtmajA | vidyudghanamivAvizya zuzubhe taptabhUSaNA || 3-52-24

तस्या भूषणघोषेण वैदेह्या राक्षसाधिपः | बभौ सचपलो नीलः सघोष इव तोयदः || ३-५२-२५

The lord of the demons by the side of Sita, princess of Videha with her jingling ornaments looked like the darkblue raincloud with its lightning and thunder. [3-52-25]
