'Vaisampayana said: "Binding her long, black, soft, and faultless tresses—each strand ending in gentle curls—into a knotted braid, Draupadi, she of dark eyes and sweet smiles, cast it over her right shoulder and modestly concealed it beneath her garment."' ।। 4-8-1 ।।
वासश च परिधायैकं कृष्णं सुमलिनं महत कृत्वा वेषं च सैरन्ध्र्याः कृष्णा वयचरद आर्तवत ।। ४-८-२ ।।
'She wore a single piece of dark cloth—soiled yet of fine quality—and dressed herself in the humble guise of a Sairandhri. With a look of quiet affliction, she began to wander here and there.' ।। 4-8-2 ।।
तस्या रूपेण वेषेण शलक्ष्णया च तथा गिरा नाश्रद्दधत तां दासीम अन्नहेतॊर उपस्थिताम ।। ४-८-५ ।।
'But when the people beheld her beauty, her graceful bearing, and heard the sweetness of her speech, they found it hard to believe that she was merely a maid-servant seeking employment.' ।। 4-8-5 ।।
