न च विद्मॊ गता येन पार्थाः सयुर दृढविक्रमाः मार्गमाणाः पदन्यासं तेषु तेषु तथा तथा ।। ४-२४-११ ।।
'We have explored tangled woods and thickets, dense with intertwined vines and foliage of all species. Yet, we have found no trace—no path—by which the son of Pritha, possessed of irrepressible energy, might have passed.' ।। 4-24-11 ।।
गिरिकूटेषु तुङ्गेषु नानाजनपदेषु च जनाकीर्णेषु देशेषु खर्वटेषु परेषु च ।। ४-२४-१२ ।।
'We sought their footprints in such places and more. We searched thoroughly, O king, across mountain peaks and in remote, inaccessible regions; in many kingdoms and provinces filled with people; in camps and cities—yet all in vain.' ।। 4-24-12 ।।
नरेन्द्र बहुशॊ ऽनविष्टा नैव विद्मश च पाण्डवान अत्यन्तभावं नष्टास ते भद्रं तुभ्यं नरर्षभ ।। ४-२४-१३ ।।
'O king, though searched for extensively, we do not find the Pandavas. They have completely disappeared. Good fortune to you, O best of men.' ।। 4-24-13 ।।
'O foremost of warriors, though we followed the trail of those chariots, O best of men, we soon lost their tracks and could not determine their present dwelling place. O lord of men, for some time we pursued the route taken by their charioteers.' ।। 4-24-14 ।।
'Making careful inquiries along the way, we ascertained the truth of what we sought. O slayer of foes, the charioteers indeed reached Dwaravati—but the sons of Pritha were not among them.' ।। 4-24-15 ।।
