प्राणायामोद्वेजनत्रासनानि सूचीतोदैः सम्भ्रमश्चात्र शस्तः । यष्ट्याह्वं वा माक्षिकेणावपीडे पिप्पल्यो वा शर्कराचूर्णयुक्ताः ॥१६॥

Pranayama, agitation, fear, and confusion are indicated as treatments for hiccoughs. Also, remedies like Yashtimadhu or Makshika, or Pippali mixed with sugar powder are beneficial in alleviating the condition.

सर्पिः कोष्णं क्षीरमिक्षो रसो वा नातिक्षीणे छर्दनं शान्तिहेतोः । नारीपयःपिष्टमशुक्लचन्दनं घृतं सुखोष्णं च ससैन्धवं तथा ॥१७॥

Clarified butter, warm milk, or a mixture of both with juice, not too diluted, can help soothe hiccoughs. Additionally, the milk of a woman, a paste of white sandalwood, clarified butter, warm and mixed with rock salt, is also beneficial for relief.

घी, गर्म दूध या दोनों का मिश्रण जूस के साथ, बहुत ज़्यादा पतला न करके, हिचकी को शांत करने में मदद कर सकता है। इसके अलावा, महिला का दूध, सफ़ेद चंदन का लेप, घी, गर्म करके उसमें सेंधा नमक मिलाकर पीने से भी हिचकी से राहत मिलती है।

चूर्णीकृतं सैन्धवमम्भसाऽथवा निहन्ति हिक्कां च हितं च नस्यतः । युञ्ज्याद्धूमं शालनिर्यासजातं नैपालं वा गोविषाणोद्भवं वा ॥१८॥

Powdered rock salt mixed with water or used as nasal snuff can relieve hiccoughs. Additionally, fumigation with the smoke of the resin from the Shala tree, or Nepali (a type of medicinal herb), or cow's horn is also beneficial for treating hiccoughs.

सेंधा नमक के पाउडर को पानी में मिलाकर या नाक में डालकर सूंघने से हिचकी से राहत मिलती है। इसके अलावा, शाल वृक्ष या नेपाली (एक प्रकार की औषधीय जड़ी बूटी) या गाय के सींग से निकलने वाले राल के धुएं से धुंआ करना भी हिचकी के इलाज के लिए फायदेमंद है।

सर्पिःस्निग्धैश्चर्मबालैः कृतं वा हिक्कास्थाने स्वेदनं चापि कार्यम् । क्षौद्रोपेतं गैरिकं काञ्चनाह्वं लिह्याद्भस्म ग्राम्यसत्त्वास्थिजं वा ॥१९॥

Fomentation with clarified butter prepared with soft leather or animal pelts should be applied to the area affected by hiccoughs. Additionally, one should apply a paste made with sugar, gairika (red ochre), or gold dust, or a mixture of ashes, local animal fat, and bone marrow to treat hiccoughs effectively.

तद्वच्छ्वाविन्मेषगोशल्य(ल्ल)कानां रोमाण्यन्तर्धूमदग्धानि चात्र । मध्वाज्याक्तं बर्हिपत्रप्रसूतमेवं भस्मौदुम्बरं तैल्वकं वा ॥२०॥

The verse describes using the ashes of burnt hair of dogs, sheep, or goats, which have been charred with smoke, as a remedy for hiccoughs. Additionally, ashes from the fruit of the Udumbara tree or from the bark, mixed with honey or with a paste made from barley straw, should be used as a treatment for hiccoughs.
