अवरोप्य गिरिं स्कन्धात्सुपर्णः पततां वरः । ययौ जलान्त उत्सृज्य हरिणा स विसर्जितः ।। ८-६-३९ ॥
Thereafter, Garuḍa, the chief of birds, unloaded Mandara Mountain from his shoulder and brought it near the water. Then he was asked by the Lord to leave that place, and he left. ।। 8-6-39 ॥

तत्पश्चात् पक्षीराज गरुड़ ने अपने कन्धे से मन्दर पर्वत को उतारा और वे उसे जल के निकट ले गये। तब भगवान् ने उससे उस स्थान से चले जाने को कहा और वह चला गया। ।। ८-६-३९ ॥
