श्रीशुक उवाच ते नागराजमामन्त्र्य फलभागेन वासुकिम् । परिवीय गिरौ तस्मिन् नेत्रमब्धिं मुदान्विताः ।‌। ८-७-१ ।।

sanskrit

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O best of the Kurus, Mahārāja Parīkṣit, the demigods and demons summoned Vāsuki, king of the serpents, requesting him to come and promising to give him a share of the nectar. They coiled Vāsuki around Mandara Mountain as a churning rope, and with great pleasure they endeavored to produce nectar by churning the Ocean of Milk. ।‌। 8-7-1 ।।

english translation

शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा : हे कुरुश्रेष्ठ महाराज परीक्षित! देवों तथा असुरों ने सर्पराज वासुकि को बुलवाया और उसे वचन दिया कि वे उसे अमृत में भाग देंगे। उन्होंने वासुकि को मन्दर पर्वत के चारों ओर मथने की रस्सी की भाँति लपेट दिया और क्षीरसागर के मन्थन द्वारा अमृत उत्पन्न करने का बड़ी प्रसन्नतापूर्वक प्रयत्न किया। ।‌। ८-७-१ ।।
