द्रव्यं वयः कर्म गुणान् विशेषं यद्योगमायाविहितान् वदन्ति । यद्दुर्विभाव्यं प्रबुधापबाधं प्रसीदतां नः स महाविभूतिः ॥ ८-५-४३ ॥
All learned men say that the five elements, eternal time, fruitive activity, the three modes of material nature, and the varieties produced by these modes are all creations of yoga-māyā. This material world is therefore extremely difficult to understand, but those who are highly learned have rejected it. May the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the controller of everything, be pleased with us. ॥ 8-5-43 ॥

सभी विद्वान लोग कहते हैं कि पाँचों तत्त्व, नित्यकाल, सकाम कर्म, प्रकृति के तीनों गुण तथा इन गुणों से उत्पन्न विभिन्न किस्में—ये सब योगमाया की सृष्टियाँ हैं। अतएव इस भौतिक जगत को समझ पाना अत्यन्त कठिन है, किन्तु जो लोग अत्यन्त विद्वान हैं उन्होंने इसका तिरस्कार कर दिया है। जो सभी वस्तुओं के नियन्ता हैं ऐसे भगवान् हम सब पर प्रसन्न हों। ॥ ८-५-४३ ॥
