त्वं सर्वलोकस्य सुहृत्प्रियेश्वरो ह्यात्मा गुरुर्ज्ञानमभीष्टसिद्धिः । तथापि लोको न भवन्तमन्धधीर्जानाति सन्तं हृदि बद्धकामः ।। ८-२४-५२ ।।

sanskrit

My Lord, You are the supreme well-wishing friend of everyone, the dearmost friend, the controller, the Supersoul, the supreme instructor and the giver of supreme knowledge and the fulfillment of all desires. But although You are within the heart, the foolish, because of lusty desires in the heart, cannot understand You. ।। 8-24-52 ।।

english translation

हे प्रभु! आप सबों के परम हितैषी तथा प्रियतम मित्र, नियन्ता, परमात्मा, परम उपदेशक, परम ज्ञान के दाता तथा समस्त इच्छाओं को पूरा करने वाले हैं। यद्यपि आप हृदय में रहते हैं, किन्तु हृदय में बसी कामेच्छाओं के कारण मूर्ख व्यक्ति आपको समझ नहीं पाता। ।। ८-२४-५२ ।।

tvaM sarvalokasya suhRtpriyezvaro hyAtmA gururjJAnamabhISTasiddhiH | tathApi loko na bhavantamandhadhIrjAnAti santaM hRdi baddhakAmaH || 8-24-52 ||
