अत्रापि भगवज्जन्म कश्यपाददितेरभूत् । आदित्यानामवरजो विष्णुर्वामनरूपधृक् ॥ ८-१३-६ ॥
In this manvantara, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appeared as the youngest of all the Ādityas, known as Vāmana, the dwarf. His father was Kaśyapa and His mother Aditi. ॥ 8-13-6 ॥

इस मन्वन्तर में भगवान् आदित्यों में सबसे छोटे, वामन के नाम से अवतरित हुए। उनके पिता कश्यप तथा माता अदिति थीं। ॥ ८-१३-६ ॥

I have briefly explained to you the position of the seven Manus. Now I shall describe the future Manus, along with the incarnations of Lord Viṣṇu. ॥ 8-13-7 ॥

O King, I have previously described [in the Sixth Canto] the two daughters of Viśvakarmā, named Saṁjñā and Chāyā, who were the first two wives of Vivasvān. ॥ 8-13-8 ॥

हे राजा! मैं तुमसे पहले ही (छठे स्कंध में) विश्वकर्मा की दो पुत्रियों का वर्णन कर चुका हूँ जिनके नाम संज्ञा तथा छाया थे, जो विवस्वान की प्रथम दो पत्नियाँ थीं। ॥ ८-१३-८ ॥

तृतीयां वडवामेके तासां संज्ञासुतास्त्रयः । यमो यमी श्राद्धदेवश्छायायाश्च सुताञ्छृणु ॥ ८-१३-९ ॥
It is said that the sun-god had a third wife, named Vaḍavā. Of the three wives, the wife named Saṁjñā had three children — Yama, Yamī and Śrāddhadeva. Now let me describe the children of Chāyā. ॥ 8-13-9 ॥

ऐसा कहा जाता है कि सूर्यदेव के एक तीसरी पत्नी भी थी जिसका नाम वडवा था। इन तीनों पत्नियों में से संज्ञा के तीन संतानें हुईं—यम, यमी तथा श्राद्धदेव। अब मैं छाया की सन्तानों का वर्णन करूँगा। ॥ ८-१३-९ ॥

सावर्णिस्तपती कन्या भार्या संवरणस्य या । शनैश्चरस्तृतीयोऽभूदश्विनौ वडवात्मजौ ॥ ८-१३-१० ॥
Chāyā had a son named Sāvarṇi and a daughter named Tapatī, who later became the wife of King Saṁvaraṇa. Chāyā’s third child is known as Śanaiścara [Saturn]. Vaḍavā gave birth to two sons, namely the Aśvinī brothers. ॥ 8-13-10 ॥

छाया के एक पुत्र सावर्णि तथा एक पुत्री तपती थी जो बाद में राजा संवरण की पत्नी बनी। छाया की तीसरी सन्तान शनैश्चर (शनि) कहलाई। वडवा ने दो पुत्रों को जन्म दिया जिनके नाम अश्विनी-बन्धु हैं। ॥ ८-१३-१० ॥
