Srimad Bhagavatam
बलिरुवाच सङ्ग्रामे वर्तमानानां कालचोदितकर्मणाम् । कीर्तिर्जयोऽजयो मृत्युः सर्वेषां स्युरनुक्रमात् ॥ ८-११-७ ॥
Bali Mahārāja replied: All those present on this battlefield are certainly under the influence of eternal time, and according to their prescribed activities, they are destined to receive fame, victory, defeat and death, one after another. ॥ 8-11-7 ॥
english translation
बलि महाराज ने उत्तर में कहा : सभी लोग जो इस युद्धभूमि में उपस्थित हैं निश्चय ही नित्य काल के वश में हैं और वे अपने-अपने नियत कर्मों के अनुसार क्रमश: यश, विजय, हार तथा मृत्यु प्राप्त करेंगे। ॥ ८-११-७ ॥
