सत्त्वं चास्य विनिर्भिन्नं महान् धिष्ण्यमुपाविशत् । चित्तेनांशेन येनासौ विज्ञानं प्रतिपद्यते ॥ ३-६-२६ ॥
Thereafter, when His consciousness separately manifested itself, the total energy, mahat-tattva, entered with His conscious part. Thus the living entity is able to conceive specific knowledge. ॥ 3-6-26 ॥

तत्पश्चात् जब विराट रूप से उसकी चेतना पृथक् होकर प्रकट हुई तो समग्र शक्ति अर्थात् महतत्त्व अपने चेतन अंश समेत प्रविष्ट हुआ। इस तरह जीव विशिष्ट ज्ञान को अवधारण करने में समर्थ होता है। ॥ ३-६-२६ ॥

शीर्ष्णोऽस्य द्यौर्धरा पद्भ्यां खं नाभेरुदपद्यत । गुणानां वृत्तयो येषु प्रतीयन्ते सुरादयः ॥ ३-६-२७ ॥
Thereafter, from the head of the gigantic form, the heavenly planets were manifested, and from His legs the earthly planets and from His abdomen the sky separately manifested themselves. Within them the demigods and others also were manifested in terms of the modes of material nature. ॥ 3-6-27 ॥

तत्पश्चात् विराट रूप के सिर से स्वर्गलोक, उसके पैरों से पृथ्वीलोक तथा उसकी नाभि से आकाश पृथक्-पृथक् प्रकट हुए। इनके भीतर भौतिक प्रकृति के तीन गुणों के रूप में देवता इत्यादि भी प्रकट हुए। ॥ ३-६-२७ ॥

आत्यन्तिकेन सत्त्वेन दिवं देवाः प्रपेदिरे । धरां रजः स्वभावेन पणयो ये च ताननु ॥ ३-६-२८ ॥
The demigods, qualified by the superexcellent quality of the mode of goodness, are situated in the heavenly planets, whereas the human beings, because of their nature in the mode of passion, live on the earth in company with their subordinates. ॥ 3-6-28 ॥

देवतागण, अति उत्तम गुण, सतोगुण के द्वारा योग्य बनकर, स्वर्गलोक में अवस्थित रहते हैं, जबकि मनुष्य अपने रजोगुणी स्वभाव के कारण अपने अधीनस्थों की संगति में पृथ्वी पर रहते हैं। ॥ ३-६-२८ ॥

तार्तीयेन स्वभावेन भगवन्नाभिमाश्रिताः । उभयोरन्तरं व्योम ये रुद्रपार्षदां गणाः ॥ ३-६-२९ ॥
Living entities who are associates of Rudra develop in the third mode of material nature, or ignorance. They are situated in the sky between the earthly planets and the heavenly planets. ॥ 3-6-29 ॥

जो जीव रुद्र के संगी हैं, वे प्रकृति के तीसरे गुण अर्थात् तमोगुण में विकास करते हैं। वे पृथ्वीलोकों तथा स्वर्गलोकों के बीच आकाश में स्थित होते हैं। ॥ ३-६-२९ ॥

मुखतोऽवर्तत ब्रह्म पुरुषस्य कुरूद्वह । यस्तून्मुखत्वाद्वर्णानां मुख्योऽभूद्ब्राह्मणो गुरुः ॥ ३-६-३० ॥
O chief of the Kuru dynasty, the Vedic wisdom became manifested from the mouth of the virāṭ, the gigantic form. Those who are inclined to this Vedic knowledge are called brāhmaṇas, and they are the natural teachers and spiritual masters of all the orders of society. ॥ 3-6-30 ॥

हे कुरुवंश के प्रधान, विराट अर्थात् विश्व रुप के मुख से वैदिक ज्ञान प्रकट हुआ। जो लोग इस वैदिक ज्ञान के प्रति उन्मुख होते हैं, वे ब्राह्मण कहलाते हैं और वे समाज के सभी वर्णों के स्वाभाविक शिक्षक तथा गुरु हैं। ॥ ३-६-३० ॥
