निर्बिभेद विराजस्त्वग्रोमश्मश्र्वादयस्ततः । तत ओषधयश्चासन् शिश्नं निर्बिभिदे ततः ।। ३-२६-५६ ।।

sanskrit

Then the universal form of the Lord, the virāṭ-puruṣa, manifested His skin, and thereupon the hair, mustache and beard appeared. After this all the herbs and drugs became manifested, and then His genitals also appeared. ।। 3-26-56 ।।

english translation

तब भगवान् के विराट रूप, विराट पुरुष ने अपनी त्वचा प्रकट की और उस पर बाल (रोम), मूँछ तथा दाढ़ी निकल आये। तत्पश्चात् सारी जड़ी-बूटियाँ प्रकट हुईं और तब जननेन्द्रियाँ भी प्रकट हुई। ।। ३-२६-५६ ।।

After this, semen (the faculty of procreation) and the god who presides over the waters appeared. Next appeared an anus and then the organs of defecation and thereupon the god of death, who is feared throughout the universe. ।। 3-26-57 ।।

english translation

तत्पश्चात् वीर्य (प्रजनन क्षमता) और जल का अधिष्ठाता देव प्रकट हुआ। फिर गुदा और उसकी इन्द्रिय और उसके भी बाद मृत्यु का देवता प्रकट हुआ जिससे सारा ब्रह्माण्ड भयभीत रहता है। ।। ३-२६-५७ ।।

Thereafter the two hands of the universal form of the Lord became manifested, and with them the power of grasping and dropping things, and after that Lord Indra appeared. Next the legs became manifested, and with them the process of movement, and after that Lord Viṣṇu appeared. ।। 3-26-58 ।।

तत्पश्चात् भगवान् के विराट रूप के दो हाथ प्रकट हुए और उन्हीं के साथ वस्तुओं को पकडऩे तथा गिराने की शक्ति आई। फिर इन्द्र देव प्रकट हुए। तदनन्तर दो पाँव प्रकट हुए, उन्हीं के साथ चलने-फिरने की क्रिया आई और इसके बाद भगवान् विष्णु प्रकट हुए। ।। ३-२६-५८ ।।

The veins of the universal body became manifested and thereafter the red corpuscles, or blood. In their wake came the rivers (the deities presiding over the veins), and then appeared an abdomen. ।। 3-26-59 ।।

विराट शरीर की नाडिय़ाँ प्रकट हुईं और तब लाल रक्त-कणिकाएँ या रक्त प्रकट हुआ। इसके पीछे नदियाँ (नाडिय़ों की अधिष्ठात्री) और तब उस शरीर में पेट प्रकट हुआ। ।। ३-२६-५९ ।।

Next grew feelings of hunger and thirst, and in their wake came the manifestation of the oceans. Then a heart became manifest, and in the wake of the heart the mind appeared. ।। 3-26-60 ।।

तत्पश्चात भूख तथा प्यास की अनुभूतियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं और इनके साथ ही समुद्र का प्राकट्य हुआ। फिर हृदय प्रकट हुआ और हृदय के साथ-साथ मन प्रकट हुआ। ।। ३-२६-६० ।।
