नाड्योऽस्य निरभिद्यन्त ताभ्यो लोहितमाभृतम् । नद्यस्ततः समभवन्नुदरं निरभिद्यत ॥ ३-२६-५९ ॥
The veins of the universal body became manifested and thereafter the red corpuscles, or blood. In their wake came the rivers (the deities presiding over the veins), and then appeared an abdomen. ॥ 3-26-59 ॥
english translation
विराट शरीर की नाडिय़ाँ प्रकट हुईं और तब लाल रक्त-कणिकाएँ या रक्त प्रकट हुआ। इसके पीछे नदियाँ (नाडिय़ों की अधिष्ठात्री) और तब उस शरीर में पेट प्रकट हुआ। ॥ ३-२६-५९ ॥
