उपर्युपरि विन्यस्तनिलयेषु पृथक्पृथक् । क्षिप्तैः कशिपुभिः कान्तं पर्यङ्कव्यजनासनैः ।। ३-२३-१६ ।।

sanskrit

The palace looked charming, with beds, couches, fans and seats, all separately arranged in seven stories. ।। 3-23-16 ।।

english translation

यह प्रासाद शय्याओं, पलंगों, पंखों तथा आसनों से युक्त सात पृथक्-पृथक् मंजिलों (तल्लों) वाला होने से अत्यन्त मनोहर लग रहा था। ।। ३-२३-१६ ।।

तत्र तत्र विनिक्षिप्तनानाशिल्पोपशोभितम् । महामरकतस्थाल्या जुष्टं विद्रुमवेदिभिः ।। ३-२३-१७ ।।

sanskrit

Its beauty was enhanced by artistic engravings here and there on the walls. The floor was of emerald, with coral daises. ।। 3-23-17 ।।

english translation

दीवालों में जहाँ तहाँ कलापूर्ण संरचना होने से उनकी सुन्दरता बढ़ गई थी। उसकी फर्श मरकत मणि की थी और चबूतरे मूँगे के बने थे। ।। ३-२३-१७ ।।

द्वाःसु विद्रुमदेहल्या भातं वज्रकपाटवत् । शिखरेष्विन्द्रनीलेषु हेमकुम्भैरधिश्रितम् ।। ३-२३-१८ ।।

sanskrit

The palace was very beautiful, with its coral thresholds at the entrances and its doors bedecked with diamonds. Gold pinnacles crowned its domes of sapphire. ।। 3-23-18 ।।

english translation

वह महल अतीव सुन्दर था, उसके द्वारों की देहलियाँ मूँगे की थीं और दरवाजे हीरों से जटित थे। इन्द्र नीलमणि के बने गुम्बदों पर सोने के कलश रखे हुए थे। ।। ३-२३-१८ ।।

चक्षुष्मत्पद्मरागाग्र्यैर्वज्रभित्तिषु निर्मितैः । जुष्टं विचित्रवैतानैर्महार्हैर्हेमतोरणैः ।। ३-२३-१९ ।।

With the choicest rubies set in its diamond walls, it appeared as though possessed of eyes. It was furnished with wonderful canopies and greatly valuable gates of gold. ।। 3-23-19 ।।

english translation

वह हीरों की दीवालों में जड़े हुए मनभावने माणिक से ऐसा प्रतीत होता था मानो नेत्रों से युक्त हो। वह विचित्र चँदोवों और अत्यधिक मूल्यवान सोने के तोरणों से सुसज्जित था। ।। ३-२३-१९ ।।

हंसपारावतव्रातैस्तत्र तत्र निकूजितम् । कृत्रिमान् मन्यमानैः स्वानधिरुह्याधिरुह्य च ।। ३-२३-२० ।।

sanskrit

Here and there in that palace were multitudes of live swans and pigeons, as well as artificial swans and pigeons so lifelike that the real swans rose above them again and again, thinking them live birds like themselves. Thus the palace vibrated with the sounds of these birds. ।। 3-23-20 ।।

english translation

उस प्रासाद में जहाँ तहाँ जीवित हंसों तथा कबूतरों के साथ ही कृत्रिम हंस तथा कबूतर इतने सजीव थे कि असली हंस उन्हें अपने ही तुल्य सजीव पक्षी समझ कर अपनी गर्दनें ऊपर उठा रहे थे। इस प्रकार वह प्रासाद इन पक्षियों के ध्वनियों से गूँज रहा था। ।। ३-२३-२० ।।
