वयं पुरा श्रीमदनष्टदृष्टयो जिगीषयास्या इतरेतरस्पृधः । घ्नन्तः प्रजाः स्वा अतिनिर्घृणाः प्रभो मृत्युं पुरस्त्वाविगणय्य दुर्मदाः ॥ १०-७३-१२ ॥
Previously, blinded by the intoxication of riches, we wanted to conquer this earth, and thus we fought one another to achieve victory, mercilessly harassing our own subjects. We arrogantly disregarded You, ॥ 10-73-12 ॥

पहले, धन के नशे में अंधे होकर, हम इस पृथ्वी को जीतना चाहते थे, और इस प्रकार हमने जीत हासिल करने के लिए एक-दूसरे से लड़ाई की, और अपनी ही प्रजा को बेरहमी से परेशान किया। हमने अहंकारपूर्वक आपकी उपेक्षा की, ॥ १०-७३-१२ ॥
