भूमौ निधाय तं गोपी विस्मिता भारपीडिता । महापुरुषमादध्यौ जगतामास कर्मसु ।। १०-७-१९ ।।

Feeling the child to be as heavy as the entire universe and therefore being anxious, thinking that perhaps the child was being attacked by some other ghost or demon, the astonished mother Yaśodā put the child down on the ground and began to think of Nārāyaṇa. Foreseeing disturbances, she called for the brāhmaṇas to counteract this heaviness, and then she engaged in her other household affairs. She had no alternative than to remember the lotus feet of Nārāyaṇa, for she could not understand that Kṛṣṇa was the original source of everything. ।। 10-7-19 ।।

english translation

बालक को सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड के बराबर भारी अनुभव करते हुए अतएव यह सोचते हुए कि बालक को कोई दूसरा भूत-प्रेत या असुर सता रहा है, चकित माता यशोदा ने बालक को जमीन पर रख दिया और नारायण का चिंतन करने लगीं। उत्पात की आशंका से उन्होंने इस भारीपन के शमन हेतु ब्राह्मणों को बुला भेजा और फिर घर के कामकाज में लग गईं। उनके पास नारायण के चरणकमलों को स्मरण करने के अतिरिक्त कोई अन्य विकल्प न था क्योंकि वे यह नहीं समझ पाईं कि कृष्ण ही हर वस्तु के मूल स्रोत हैं। ।। १०-७-१९ ।।
