सुपर्णतालध्वजचिह्नितौ रथावलक्षयन्त्यो हरिरामयोर्मृधे । स्त्रियः पुराट्टालकहर्म्यगोपुरं समाश्रिताः सम्मुमुहुः शुचार्दिताः ।। १०-५०-२२ ।।

sanskrit

The women stood in the watchtowers, palaces and high gates of the city. When they could no longer see Kṛṣṇa’s and Balarāma’s chariots, identified by banners marked with the emblems of Garuḍa and a palm tree, they were struck with grief and fainted. ।। 10-50-22 ।।

english translation

स्त्रियाँ अटारियों, महलों तथा नगर के ऊँचे द्वारों पर खड़ी हुई थीं। जब उन्हें कृष्ण तथा बलराम के रथ नहीं दिखाई पड़े, जिनकी पहचान गरुड़ तथा ताड़-वृक्ष के प्रतीकों से चिन्हित पताकाओं से होती थी, तो वे शोकाकुल होकर मूर्च्छित हो गईं। ।। १०-५०-२२ ।।
