गोप्यश्चाकर्ण्य मुदिता यशोदायाः सुतोद्भवम् । आत्मानं भूषयाञ्चक्रुर्वस्त्राकल्पाञ्जनादिभिः ॥ १०-५-९ ॥

The gopī wives of the cowherd men were very pleased to hear that mother Yaśodā had given birth to a son, and they began to decorate themselves very nicely with proper dresses, ornaments, black ointment for the eyes, and so on. ॥ 10-5-9 ॥

english translation

गोपियाँ यह सुनकर अत्यधिक प्रसन्न थीं कि माता यशोदा ने पुत्र को जन्म दिया है, अत: वे उपयुक्त वस्त्रों, गहनों, काजल आदि से अपने को सजाने लगीं। ॥ १०-५-९ ॥
