स नित्यदोद्विग्नधिया तमीश्वरं पिबन् वदन् वा विचरन् स्वपन् श्वसन् । ददर्श चक्रायुधमग्रतो यतस्तदेव रूपं दुरवापमाप ।। १०-४४-३९ ।।

sanskrit

Kaṁsa had always been disturbed by the thought that the Supreme Lord was to kill him. Therefore when drinking, eating, moving about, sleeping or simply breathing, the King had always seen the Lord before him with the disc weapon in His hand. Thus Kaṁsa achieved the rare boon of attaining a form like the Lord’s. ।। 10-44-39 ।।

english translation

कंस इस विचार से सदैव विचलित रहता था कि भगवान् द्वारा उसका वध होने वाला है। अत: वह खाते, पीते, चलते, सोते, यहाँ तक कि साँस लेते समय भी भगवान् को अपने समक्ष हाथ में चक्र धारण किये देखा करता था। इस तरह कंस ने भगवान् जैसा रूप (सारूप्य) प्राप्त करने का दुर्लभ वर प्राप्त किया। ।। १०-४४-३९ ।।
