दृष्ट्वा मुहुः श्रुतमनुद्रुतचेतसस्तं तत्प्रेक्षणोत्स्मितसुधोक्षणलब्धमानाः । आनन्दमूर्तिमुपगुह्य दृशाऽऽत्मलब्धं हृष्यत्त्वचो जहुरनन्तमरिन्दमाधिम् ।। १०-४१-२८ ।।

The ladies of Mathurā had repeatedly heard about Kṛṣṇa, and thus as soon as they saw Him their hearts melted. They felt honored that He was sprinkling upon them the nectar of His glances and broad smiles. Taking Him into their hearts through their eyes, they embraced Him, the embodiment of all ecstasy, and as their bodily hairs stood on end, O subduer of enemies, they forgot the unlimited distress caused by His absence. ।। 10-41-28 ।।

english translation

मथुरा की स्त्रियों ने कृष्ण के विषय में बारम्बार सुन रखा था अत: उनका दर्शन पाते ही उनके हृदय द्रवित हो उठे। वे अपने को सम्मानित अनुभव कर रही थीं कि कृष्ण ने उन पर अपनी चितवन तथा हँसी रूपी अमृत का छिडक़ाव किया है। अपने नेत्रों के द्वारा उन्हें अपने हृदयों में ग्रहण करके उन सबों ने समस्त आनन्द की मूर्ति का आलिंगन किया और हे अरिन्दम! ज्योंही उन्हें रोमांच हो आया वे उनकी अनुपस्थिति से जन्य असीम कष्ट को भूल गईं। ।। १०-४१-२८ ।।
