Srimad Bhagavatam
श्रीभगवानुवाच मया तेऽकारि मघवन् मखभङ्गोऽनुगृह्णता । मदनुस्मृतये नित्यं मत्तस्येन्द्रश्रिया भृशम् ॥ १०-२७-१५ ॥
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear Indra, it was out of mercy that I stopped the sacrifice meant for you. You were greatly intoxicated by your opulence as King of heaven, and I wanted you to always remember Me. ॥ 10-27-15 ॥
english translation
भगवान् ने कहा : हे इन्द्र, मैंने तो दयावश ही तुम्हारे निमित्त होने वाले यज्ञ को रोक दिया था। तुम स्वर्ग के राजा के अपने ऐश्वर्य से अत्यधिक उन्मत्त हो चुके थे और मैं चाहता था कि तुम सदैव मेरा स्मरण कर सको। ॥ १०-२७-१५ ॥
