किमिन्द्रेणेह भूतानां स्वस्वकर्मानुवर्तिनाम् । अनीशेनान्यथा कर्तुं स्वभावविहितं नृणाम् ॥ १०-२४-१५ ॥
Living beings in this world are forced to experience the consequences of their own particular previous work. Since Lord Indra cannot in any way change the destiny of human beings, which is born of their own nature, why should people worship him? ॥ 10-24-15 ॥

इस जगत में जीवों को अपने किसी विशेष पूर्व कर्म के परिणामों का अनुभव करने के लिए बाध्य किया जाता है। चूँकि भगवान् इन्द्र किसी तरह भी मनुष्यों के भाग्य को बदल नहीं सकते जो उनके स्वभाव से ही उत्पन्न होता है, तो फिर लोग उनकी पूजा क्यों करें? ॥ १०-२४-१५ ॥
