दीक्षायाः पशुसंस्थायाः सौत्रामण्याश्च सत्तमाः । अन्यत्र दीक्षितस्यापि नान्नमश्नन् हि दुष्यति ।। १०-२३-८ ।।

sanskrit

Except during the interval between the initiation of the performer of a sacrifice and the actual sacrifice of the animal, O most pure brāhmaṇas, it is not contaminating for even the initiated to partake of food, at least in sacrifices other than the Sautrāmaṇi. ।। 10-23-8 ।।

english translation

हे शुद्धतम ब्राह्मणो, यज्ञकर्ता की दीक्षा तथा वास्तविक पशु यज्ञ के मध्य की अवधि को छोडक़र तथा सौत्रामणि के अतिरिक्त अन्य यज्ञों में दीक्षित व्यक्ति के लिए भी भोजन करना दूषित नहीं है। ।। १०-२३-८ ।।
