देहोऽपि ममताभाक्चेत्तर्ह्यसौ नात्मवत्प्रियः । यज्जीर्यत्यपि देहेऽस्मिन् जीविताशा बलीयसी ।। १०-१४-५३ ।।

sanskrit

If a person comes to the stage of considering the body “mine” instead of “me,” he will certainly not consider the body as dear as his own self. After all, even as the body is growing old and useless, one’s desire to continue living remains strong. ।। 10-14-53 ।।

english translation

यदि मनुष्य शरीर को “मैं” न मानकर “मेरा” मानने की अवस्था तक पहुँच जाता है, तो वह निश्चित रूप से शरीर को अपने आप जितना प्रिय नहीं मानेगा। यही कारण है कि शरीर के जीर्णशीर्ण हो जाने पर भी जीवित रहते जाने की आशा प्रबल रहती है। ।। १०-१४-५३ ।।
